Caesars Palace is now home to the first publicly accessible restaurant of the reality cooking show Hell’s Kitchen, headed by famed Chef Gordon Ramsey. The renovation of the existing 11,000 s.f. building was a remodel and addition at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo. CSD created a modern re-interpretation of the classic roman architectural style through simplicity of repetition, proportions, texture, and color.

In addition to a complete dining experience, the show will be filmed at this location a few times a year. Dinners are welcomed with a flaming “HK” entry sign, color changing exterior lighting and a large Gordon Ramsey hologram upon arrival. The restaurant incorporates a hall of fame wall which present past contestant winners and a small retail area for Hell’s kitchen souvenirs. Designed with an elegant décor, pitch fork motifs are presented throughout the restaurant as well as the signature red vs blue teams defined by decorative wall tile with printed flame affects at the large open kitchen.

The project schedule was by far the biggest challenge for this project. Hell’s Kitchen needed to be ready to accommodate the finale of Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen television show. The winner of Hells Kitchen would become the head chief of the new restaurant. The project was built in less than 5 months and took a dedicated and synchronized effort from a large team to accomplish this project quickly and to the highest quality. The second challenge was the extensive remodel that was required of the previous Serendipity restaurant/Strip side café. The existing space was stripped all the way down to is original structural frame which was integrated into the parking garage below. The footprint expanded so portions of the building were built over the existing parking garage and portions were slab on grade. The project was built to accommodate the spatial demands of the 300-seat restaurant.
