The National Atomic Testing Museum (NATM) is Smithsonian Affiliate and a program of the Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation. The museum is under design by Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects and will soon be relocated to Downtown Las Vegas in Symphony Park.

This new home for the Museum will include exhibits, interactive experiences, library, meeting rooms, interior and exterior hospitality spaces, classrooms, museum store, café, theatre, special event spaces, administrative offices, and archives. The facility is centered around a voluminous atrium space designed to house large scale displays such as missiles, bombs and planes while also functioning as the primary circulation. The ground level of the site is designed around an exterior gathering space designed to visually mimic the cratered topography of the Nevada Test Site. The entry sequence to the Museum will become an interactive visual timeline of the atomic history contained within the building.

The National Atomic Testing Museum (NATM) is a national science, history and educational institution that tells the story of America’s nuclear weapons testing program at the Nevada Test Site. The Museum uses lessons of the past and present to better understand the extent and effect of nuclear testing on worldwide nuclear deterrence and geo-political history. It provides collection-based exhibits and learning activities for greater public understanding and appreciation of the world in which we live.
