Ameristar Casino East Chicago which opened in 2001, is a 15-story, 290-room hotel that has the amenities of a four-diamond casino hotel. In 2010, we were asked to renovate the hotel to maintain the four-diamond level feel. We used the city’s urban setting as design inspiration to introduce a more contemporary, upscale feel to their property. Guestrooms feel inviting and well appointed, keeping in the theme of the property, providing their guests with all the comforts of home and then some. The introduction of a bar area in lieu of the traditional dining table at the suites was well received by the property, and will bring a younger, more social setting to these high-end rooms. The bedding we designed for East Chicago was so well received that it has become the new standard and has been ordered for three other existing properties and is specified for all future properties.
