Ameristar Jackpot

Jackpot, NV

The hotel tower which was built in 1982 has received various upgrades over the years and was in need of an updated look. Ameristar Casinos’ $7 million renovation of the Granite Range portion of Cactus Petes Casino in Jackpot, NV was intended to clean-up the overly complicated corridors and ceilings, introduce a sophisticated design palette and create a clean updated environment for their hotel guests. Sitting just south of the Idaho border, the property attracts an older generation of snow-birds traveling from Canada, and a mix of younger generations that will travel in from Idaho for concert and music events. This mix of demographics along with its remote location posed some unique design challenges to bridge the gap of generation and regional style within the property’s design. With only 79 standard rooms, 4 Living Room Suites, 4 Spa Suites, and 1 Hospitality Suite, the hotel itself had wonderful existing structure composed of spacious rooms and balconies with gracious views. The overall concept for the renovation was in keeping with the essence of nature of the surrounding high desert environment in Jackpot, NV. Elements of nature were introduced and highlighted by sleek refined materials and bright fresh colors. Unification of the new Diamond Tower, the existing Casino property and these corridors and rooms needed to be cohesive in design and feel like one collective property.
