The Clark County School District Southeast Career and Technical Academy ranks among the best high schools in the State of Nevada, offering ten different programs of study. The new gymnasium upgraded the existing program with a ground-up 61,133-square-foot building that can hold 1,500 spectators in the main gym.
In addition to the main gym, the space includes an auxiliary gym, general classrooms, a weight training room, a dance room, a cross-fit room, faculty offices, locker rooms, and concessions. The building comprises concrete tilt-up, metal framing, and custom long-span steel trusses with entrances that carve into the building's mass. The building materials inside and out are resilient and durable, including metal panels, finishes, wall tiles, concrete, and wood floors. Large roll-up doors in the weight training and cross-fit rooms open to the exterior on the north side of the campus, creating an open space. Natural daylight illuminates the gym spaces through continuous bands of diffused daylighting panels. At night, those prominent panels glow from within, signifying the activity and presence of a special campus event.
