Clark County School District Southeast Career Technical Academy Gymnasium Renovation and Addition

Las Vegas, NV

61,133 SF

The Clark County School District Southeast Career and Technical Academy ranks among the best high schools in the State of Nevada, offering 10 different programs of study. The new gymnasium and renovation will upgrade the existing program with a ground-up 61,133 square-foot building, with capacity to hold 1,500 spectators in the main gym.

In addition to the main gym, the space includes an auxiliary gym, general classrooms, a weight training room, dance room, cross fit room, faculty offices, locker rooms, and concessions. The building is composed of concrete tilt-up, metal framing and custom long span steel trusses with entrances that carve into the building's mass. The building materials inside and out are resilient and durable from metal panels, finishes, wall tiles, concrete, and wood floors. Large roll-up doors in the weight training and cross fit rooms open to the exterior at the north side of the campus. Natural daylight illuminates the gym spaces through continuous bands of diffused daylighting panels. At night those prominent panels glow from within, signifying the activity and presence of a special campus event.
