The Donald W. Reynolds Girl Scout Training and Service Center is located on 2.5 acres of donated land. The project site consists of a single story building with a ceremonial activity courtyard behind it. The structural and mechanical systems are left exposed when possible as well as the structural connections of the glass system to educate the users. Natural materials and colors harmonize with the desert environment as well as provide a low maintenance exterior skin that will withstand the test of time. The overall design incorporates office and meeting space, training areas, a multi-purpose room, kitchen, cookie storage, a retail store and an area for a library and media resources.
