Lee Canyon, formally known as the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, underwent its most significant transformation since opening in 1964 - with the intention of totally transforming the way guests enjoy the resort in both summer and winter. The new building is situated into the existing hillside, creating a defined courtyard area nestled between the new and existing buildings – while capitalizing on an important goal of the project to capture majestic surrounding views of the adjacent mountain ranges. The new building has been strategically sited at the bottom of the main ski slopes. This allows for the main bar area to be located at the second level (yet aligned with the higher mountain ski slope elevation), a perfect “ski-on” landing spot for the arrival of skiers on their way down the mountain. Additionally, this upper deck area and enclosed event space becomes the perfect backdrop for the resort’s popular wedding receptions and other larger special events. Improvements were developed to the existing building’s facades as well, aesthetically tying them into a complete complex.
